What is IPES?

Our Intensive Personalised Employment Support (IPES) programme is part of a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) initiative to provide support for people with disabilities who are at least a year away from moving into employment without intensive support.

Who is it for?

IPES is for clients who face complex barriers into employment, and are considered by Job Centre Work Coaches to be more than 12 months from the labour market without intensive support.

To qualify for support you must:

• Have the right to work and currently reside in England or Wales.

• Not be in any form of paid employment.

• Be of working age (18 to State Pension age).

• Not be currently participating in any other Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Contracted Employment provision.

Once referred to us from DWP

Our team of health care professionals provide 15 months of pre-employment support to individuals, enabling them to progress towards their employment goals. This is followed by a further 6 months of intensive in-work-support to help them sustain that employment.

The service is fully funded by the Department for Work & Pensions, meaning there is no cost to the participants.

As a Joint Delivery Partner with Shaw Trust, one of the leading providers of Employability & Health services in the UK, we deliver the IPES service across the East & West Midlands, London and Home Counties.

Working directly with the participants, our key workers utilise local support networks and community organisations, seeking to empower individuals with disabilities to secure long-term employment opportunities.

We specialise in supporting individuals whose physical and mental health are their main barrier to employment. The programme is aimed at job seekers who need more intensive support than is offered through the Work and Health Programme.
